David has owned the salon for 29 years, during that time he has work in television,film and theatre and has the covers of several magazines to his name.

David worked as one of the hairdressers for the Royal Variety Performance for several years but sadly never met the queen!

Angie

Receptionist/Stock supervisor

Our full time receptionist Angie joined the team in 2007 although she's no newbie, as she's been coming to the salon for over twenty years! Angie will help you with appointments and any enquiry you have about hair or beauty treatments.

Becky

Top Designer/First aid

Becky started work at David Youll the day after she left school aged 16 and has now been at the salon for 12 years. Becky has won several hairdressing competitions during her career. When she is not at work Becky devotes all her time to her baby daughter's.

Director/Trainee Manager/Colour Expert / Raccoon Extensions

There are two sides to Gemma there is the professional one that you will see in the salon and the life and soul of the party that you will find all over facebook and the bars and clubs of Torbay, the photo we have used in her profile is the the salon face Gemma has been part of the team for 6 years joining as senior designer. Her ever growing skill and her dedication to her clients and salon have seen her grow and be promoted  to one of the salon Directors. Gemma is also a qualified beauty therapist.

Ryan

Apprentice/ Team Leader

Ryan is always up for a challenge, in his training and even in the cleaning jobs around the salon.

Ryans loves putting hair up, he watches fashions shows and look at all magazines to see what the latest trends are, then spends hours at home recreating them, and so that they dont go unseen he post them on his facebook page for everyone to admire.

I think Ryan will be on our wedding team very soon.

Georgie

We are very proud of Georgie ,she started working with us at the age of 14 as a Saturday assistant,and completed her NVQ1 while still at school. She qualified and attended to the salon's clients within 1 year of leaving school and won apprentice of the year 2008 for the Wescountry. Georgie's goal is to become a director of the salon and take over.

Marcus

Salon Manager

Marcus is a not a hairdresser but never stops asking to be trained... so at last we have given in and he is now doing his training

His time in the salon is spent making sure everything is running smoothly, he is the perfect salon host with his bright forward thinking personality.

Jules

Top Designer

Jules is one of the happiest and most optimistic people you will ever meet she is also a fantastic hairdresser. Jules moved to devon some years ago to raise her family after spending many years managing the  Charles Worthington salon in Covent Garden where she was part of the artistic team and worked on many photo shoots, their loss was our gain.

Alex

Senior Designer

Alex started hairdressing at the age of 15 and still loves  the salon life, he enjoys the constant changes in styles and fashion the more challenging the better. Alex loves doing shorter hair and is a specialists in gents.In his spare time Alex heads off to the coast as he is a very keen surfer and the beach parties that go with the surf crowed.

Bianca

Apprentice

Bianca beat over thirty applicants with her winning CV and smile. Fun loving and just a little bit ditzy she's an instant hit with customers and the team! She's not a local though after only recently being released from the Croydon Massive - alllrighttt!! Bianca is now learning to drive and she tells me that she's getting better at steering ? Thats good to know.... for all of us .

Julie

Julie is a very relaxed person, nothing is ever a problem and nothing ever ruffles her feathers. She has been part of the team for 7 years but now unfortunately only works Mondays and Saturdays as she has to combine Being a busy hairdresser with being an even busier mother of two.

Domm

Apprentice

Domm want to be the best ,the best at shampooing ,making coffee ,sweeping the floor etc ..... not just the best but extrodinary and he said he is also going to be an extrodinary hairdresser... and soon.

Katie

Beauty Therapist/First Aid

Katie loves her job and believes in excellent client care and confidentiality. She has been a beauty therapist for 11 years. On her career path she has managed spas in Jersey and Cambridgeshire as well as locally. Katie said the best part of her job is seeing her clients relaxed and happy.

Andrea has 13 years experience as a beauty therapist.She has worked in beauty salons and cruise ships see the world doing a job she loves.

Andrea is also very active outside of work she is married with two children,Jake and Ellliot,she even finds time to play rounders for a local team "The Ship Mates"(sounds like it might be attached to a pub to me!)

Laura

Laura returned to Devon after working in London then transferring to work as a colour technician for Vidal Sasson in Cardiff. Laura loves the edgier side of hairdressing but still enjoys putting in a few rollers. She tries to live a very holistic life, what she eats and what she does ... cycling to work most days rain or shine ?
